New season, new session!

Hello yogi friends!

I hope you've all had a good summer, so far, and are enjoying the long weekend. It was great that the sun came out on enough Fridays to be able to hold six yoga sessions (to date) in Dyke Road Park! We've had a lot of fun in these sessions and I hope to be able to run them again in 2025. If you are free next Friday (30th August) at 4.30pm, why not join me for the last one of the summer?

Before long we'll be in September, and into another new season. While I do love summer, I have to say that I'm always ready to welcome autumn, enjoying the change in energy that it brings and the opportunity to set new goals and intentions. Speaking of which, I've been busy for the past couple of weeks preparing for the launch of a new Seaside Yoga class!

New class trial for autumn: (V)Ashtanga! Thursday mornings 7.30am to 8.30am in Exeter Street Hall (from 3rd October)

Although Hatha yoga is my passion, and my main discipline, I've been going to Ashtanga classes once a week for a few years now (with the amazing Davy Jones) and have always thought it would be fun to teach. You know what to expect from an Ashtanga class - the structure and sequences follow a similar pattern each time, enabling you to perfect your form week by week and to gradually build strength and stability. With Ashtanga classes you jump straight into two types of sun salutations and progress to standing postures which are held for several breaths. Flow sequences (or 'vinyasas') are peppered between seated postures to stop you from flagging! It's a great class to do early in the morning, to energise your body and focus your mind for the day ahead.

I am calling this new class '(V)Ashtanga' as it will be very much my own (hopefully fun!) take on the practice. We will follow the structure, sequencing and some of the postures from the first stage of Ashtanga (known as the 'primary series') but I will offer modifications and avoid some of the more challenging postures like headstands and arm balances.

If you fancy a change from Hatha, or already attend a mixed-ability class with me and would like to come to a second class, why not give it a try? I'll be offering this class on a trial basis to begin with (from October to December) but hope to continue in the new year if there is sufficient demand.

If what you actually would like is a gentler practice, remember that - in addition to my two mixed-ability Hatha sessions at Exeter Street Hall and BHASVIC - I also run a 75-minute Gentle/Holistic yoga class every Thursday from 1.00pm to 2.15pm at St Luke's Church. This slower-paced class is great for when you need a rejuvenating lunchtime reset!

For further details about all the classes I currently offer, check out the About section on the website.

September offer: get 12 classes when you buy a block of 10!

Throughout September I'm giving away two additional free classes with every block of 10 you buy. This will get you 12 classes for £60 (translating to just £5 per class!) - and the perfect justification for coming to yoga twice a week ;).

The offer will end on 30th September, so grab it while you can! For further info, go to Plans-Pricing.

As always, a huge thank you to everyone for coming to my classes and for all your support. Hope to see you in a class again soon!

Namaste
